TWO FOR T
By Norman Carr

The traiteur in Collioure is a singularly vivid photo. However, as I reviewed archives for people, places and things, I found T subjects with two compelling entries. The Numbers category (“Thirty-five” and “Twelve”) are European entries as are two from Trogir. But the Wild West of Tucumcari also had me seeing double.

THIRTY-FIVE PLUS TWELVE
Stumbling onto “Thirty-five” seemed appropriately magical. This shop catered to magicians, jugglers, and jesters. “Twelve” is the gondola number of the Ferris wheel in Vienna’s Prater amusement park. The wheel has had featured roles in several movies including the film noir classic “The Third Man.” Gondola No. 12 can be rented for private, romantic spins.

PHOTOGRAPHY TO A “T”
Photographically, two towns that suit me to a T are Trogir and Tucumcari. Classic cat curiosity was evident in this alley cat. Or was he simply striking a pose? The marina reflection makes me reflect on Diebenkorn’s paintings.

Tucumcari offers a stark contrast to the European cities just mentioned. Raw and dusty with tumbleweeds rolling over Route 66, the town is also exotic and rich in culture.

OTHER TOWNS & THINGS
A damsel is framed in Tallinn, and an enigmatic portal in Taos Pueblo.

Final T things are a trombone and the Texas Theater. The trombone and the band play while the faithful and passersby dance The Sardana in Barcelona. The empty Texas Theater is in Marfa.
